travel bug logging

I am very new at Geocaching, and i have found a couple of travelbugs....

 

i am trying to figure out how to drop them off, when i go to the bug page i only see "write note" and "discovered it" in the log type drop down menu.

 

i dont really understand why? because it is in my inventory already so why is there a discovered it option and no drop off option

 

i saw on the trackable items home page, i see people that have logged an item as dropped or visited...

where do i do that from?

 

also i use iphone as my device and i figured out how to "grab" a trackable but again cant figure out how to drop it off

 

help is appreciated

Look at the bottom of the page. There will be a list of TB/ coins which are in your possession. U can either "Drop them off", or allow them to "Visit" the cache.

For those you with Coins/Bugs that you like to take visiting caches, the latest version of GC Log Maximizer script for Firefox has an auto-visit option for your trackables. I dont have any trackables of my own, so have not tried it, but looks like it might save some hassle for those of you that have.

Also note that there is a new feature when logging held trackables that allows you to choose between an action of either Dropping or allowing a trackable to just Visit a cache.
