+DisneyXtreme
What insect repellent do you use when you go caching? I use Repel Lemon Eucalyptus Insect Repellent that's Deet free. It works pretty well but it's not 100% effective from heavy swarms of mosquitoes. Quote Link to comment
+yawppy
I've used Off! Deet 98.11% Ben's Deet 98.11%, a few other's all Deet, and Scotch Mini Lint Roller's, usually the critters still attack, so I'm going to order Avon's skin so soft worked quite well while in the field , Learned about it while enlisted the U.S Army, so need to locate an Avon sales person for some more, and finally the last bit of my bug arsenal, is my winter BDU top, with a hunters Mosquito netting mask (Not the "Bee hive hat thing, hate them) and of course heavy duty leather work gloves, put that on, and I'm invincible! Have not one welt when that's on, a bit weird looking, but it works well! Quote Link to comment
+orion X
I have used Sawyer's for a number of years. It works great. If you use another skin application safe products on exposed skin, you will be nearly bug proof. Quote Link to comment
+hesslv
Thankfully I have yet needed any insect repellent! Where I cache and where I live is mosquito free for the most part! I've probably seen more bats than mosquitoes! Haha, it's a shame there is no repellent for those pesky bats! Quote Link to comment

I've read about people using it, but in just about every case the people that tried it said it didn't work. Quote Link to comment

You need to consider what their 'expertise' is. Like flying a 747. It flies, but it doesn't do aerobatics very well. We always stick to something that is made for the purpose. Most of us have two built-in repellents -- R & L hands! Quote Link to comment
+worstcaster
Repel or Off with DEET. Which every is selling for cheaper in the store I am in. Quote Link to comment
+Zarya.
http://www.badgerbalm.com/pc-21-2-anti-bug-balm.aspx Not swarmproof either except in liberal applications, but it's all natural. I get irritated by moderate DEET concentrations. My other answer is to wear long-sleeves treated with permethrin. Quote Link to comment
+Chokecherry
In the higher point of tick season I was doing clothes treated with permethrin and then spraying the unclothed body parts in deet. Quote Link to comment
