HideNseekers
We found a travel bug yesterday . Nothing about it in the logbook so we went ahead and took it. Upon entering its code on the travel bug page, I find that it was never activated. Now we have no idea of its intended purpose. I guess I can continue to watch it for a while to see if it becomes activated, or I could return it to the cache where we found it. I am new to travel bugs but I do think I know how they are suppose to work. Am I missing something, or are they supposed to be activated upon discovery? Help....... Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Was the bug attached to an item, or just in its original package? If it was the latter it could have just been placed in the cache as a trade item for the finder to use as their own. I've done that myself. If it was the former, then perhaps you can leave a note on the cache page mentioning that you have it and reminding the person who left it that it hasn't been activated. Or perhaps you may be able to trace the owner through the logs to get in touch with him/her. "Life is a daring adventure, or it is nothing" - Helen Keller Quote Link to comment
HideNseekers
In fact it was attached to a traveler. A small piece of varnished drift wood. I think I will log it on the cache page and see if anyone responds. Thanks for the help... Quote Link to comment
