+CYBret Posted August 31, 2003 Posted August 31, 2003 Just wondering if anyone's bought a set of these figurines with the purpose of making them into travel bugs. For the uninitiated, you can learn more about these characters at this link. Bret "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again." Mt. 13:44 Quote
+fly46 Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 I think the purple chick is adorable! Why don't you do it? start them in different caches and make the goal be to travel a certain length (time or miles) and then end up in the same cache together. Quote
+MissJenn Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 i'd never heard of them or seen them before this thread. (i live under a rock.) I like the orange guy with the goofy smile! -- I've found 58% of the caches in the country! How are your numbers? ;-) Quote
+bitbrain Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Strong Bad is too cool. He spent Labor Dabor sitting on his cooler beside the stick taunting everyone who walked by. I have the feeling that Strong Sad baleeted his invitation to the picnic, though. Quote
+Bennu Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 I read email with Strongbad every week, and I love those figurines, travel bugs are a good idea, wish I had thought of it first. Quote
+SamLowrey Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Excellent idea! I discovered who StrongBad was after seeing several references to it. I found the site and spend hours on it. Fun stuff. Some of it was silly, but I loved the parodies of commercials and pop culture - they were rich. For example: http://www.homestarrunner.com/mrshmallow.html Quote

I actually have had that thought. I was thinking of a Homestar-themed cache, or maybe racing a few. Rubber spoon...rubber spoon...rubber spoon... Quote
+Team Mach Posted September 5, 2003 Posted September 5, 2003 I bought a set with that plan in mind but I'm having second thoughts because I like them sitting next to my computer. Quote

LOL, that's what i was afraid of! I'm going to hold out on buying the set until they add Homesar and the KOT later this year. I hope I don't get caught! Trogdor! Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Gee I feel left out.....not have a figure of my own... How I got my name When in trouble, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout! [This message was edited by Trogdor! on September 07, 2003 at 05:25 PM.] Quote
+Team JOYSON Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 myself and a couple of other diehard homestar fans have been following the website for quite a while. I can't imagine anyone being willing to part with one of the figures from the set since you have to buy the entire set, and it's $30+. Strongbad's the real reason most people visit the site anyways... him, and.... TROGDORRRRRRRR!!!! "And then Trogdor smote the Kerrek, and all was laid to burnination." Quote
+MissJenn Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 So, question: Are these brilliant guys anywhere else BUT their own little (but wonderful) website? I mean, have they seeped out into mainstream media yet? - Miss "wondering if my cat would mind if we re-named her PoopSmith" Jenn Quote

They've quit their day jobs and are supported soley on the merchandise sales from the site. But there are no plans for a Homestar TV show. Team Kender - "The Sun is coming up!" +Nochipra Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 These characters are great. I like the homestar runner because he sounds like bill murray in caddy shack. The web site is hilarious. I fell in love with these little guys. Where can you find them? Quote

TimSkells Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 so have any of these bugs been sent off make one of the goals of strongbad to go to cleveland ohio i would like to be part in this and i love strong bad Quote
+MissJenn Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Coach Z will soon be released. I am open to suggestions for a goal that is more definite than the one I have there now. to get a jorb Quote
+Team HomestarRunner Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 We purchased the set of nine about three weeks ago, along with TB tags, but due to a busy schedule I have not had time to come up with unique goals for them. Any suggestions would be welcomed!!!! I'll be taking some time off in coming weeks so I hope to release them then. I'll have to admit that the hardest this was to make them "uncollectable". I took the advice from another thread an *gulp* drilled a hole in the base of each figure. Thanks MissJen for showing me this thread. IT'S OVER ! ! ! ! Quote
+TaranWanderer Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 Well, I'm glad you all, like, are enjoying the site, and the figurines, and the "electronic mail," and all the other cool features that Strongbadia has to offer. Me and The Cheat do love our fans. We send Trogdor out after anyone else. And I think I'm gonna have to move the tire around a little, it's starting to breed mosquitoes... Yep, MJ and I have been taking in the funnies from this site for a while now. I bought her the set for X-mas and they all rode around the tree on my model trains for a while, (The Homestar Express), and then they all went their separate ways. No way are we sending StrongBad out as a TB, though. He's too cool to be a TB and would be AWOL pretty quick, I agree. Coach Z made a good one, though. Time to send Trogdor out to burninate all the peoples in their thatched-roof cottages...THATCHED-ROOF COTTAGES!!!! Quote
