+Niels&Sandra
Hi all, We geocache together with friends who bought a Garmin eTrex H. Following the reviews, this device should do the trick for Geocaching. However, it doesn't work for us!! We use a TomTom to get to the point, but offroad a TomTom doesn't work very well. So we'd like to use the Garmin after this point. The problem now is, for example when we arrive with TomTom the TomTom says the cache is 200meters away, but the Garmin says it's 500 meters away. And another problem is that sometimes we can't fill in the correct coordinate. (for example, if you have N 39° 23.911 W 084° 43.761 you can't fill in the 7.) Does anyone know what might be the problem? Hope to hear from you, thanks a lot!!!! Quote Link to comment

Datum (there's a long list!) needs to be set as WGS84, and the format needs to be hddd mm.mmm With both of these set correctly, the eTrex will definitely be "right"!! Matt Quote Link to comment

+Charsu
Hi there, I'd have same problem to put in the numbers or to change it. Did you also used the Garmin Software: Webupdater to look if you have last version of software from Garmin device?? After I've made this the revision of software was count up and it was possible to make the changes in the coordinates... Only a suggestion from a newbee;-) Regards Charsu Quote Link to comment
