+Skadog
I will be traveling home next week and I may have time for one or two geocaches while I am in central Oregon. I like challenges, but I am really all about the reward, incredible vistas, unique formations, etc.. Anyone have any suggestions for unique or epic caches in the Bend / Sunriver area. I am not afraid of the badlands either. Thanks, Skadog Quote Link to comment
Swamp-Thing
I have done only a few in that area but I have some suggestions: Steelhead Falls I DNF'd this one because I didn't have my garmin GPS just the one I removed from my car. Monkey Misery This one is in Smith Rocks State Park and requires several hours hiking. There are a few cachers down there that will probably have more local knowledge that will comment in a few days. +Logscaler and Red
Any of the caches in the Badlands proper are always good. You could even move the Mail while out there if you want. There are several interesting ones up on Pine Mountain and then there are always the Lookouts. As long as you avoid the crappy micro caches out there, everything should be good. Quote Link to comment
+chubby forest monkey
There is actually a cache called EPIC on the Metolius that I have always wanted to do. Nearby is the Princess Bride series of caches, which will give you a real fun day of adventure orienteering and scrambling up on Green Ridge. Anything by Logscaler, PMOguy and Chief Paulina are sure to provide you with the challenge you desire. Quote Link to comment

+Skadog
The mail still runs out there? I did move the mail once on my way to Flat Iron. Thanks for the suggestions, and Logscaler I still have the box of goodies, I just haven't made the time to put everything together. Thanks again for that. -Scott Quote Link to comment

Your last event was nearly 4 years ago at the Tiki Bar when I shared a table adjacent bar stools with you and your lovely wife. And now I catch you here planning to sneak off to the badlands. That must be some special place. Enjoy your trip. edited to match a flashback to a 4 year old memory Edited July 25, 2010 by Cardinal Red Quote Link to comment
+Skadog
Has it really been nine months? Oregon and the badlands are special, and the geocaches are spectacular. It is where I began and it is (hopefully) where I will end. I can't go out there without grabbing something. Hopefully my trip will re spark my geofire and we will see you at another event soon.
