modernman
I'm going to be visiting Watkins Glen and was hoping someone familiar with the area could recommend some activities (geocaching or otherwise). Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
There are many wineries to visit. See the Seneca Lake Wine Trail . Also there is the glass museum in Corning about 20 minutes away. It's pretty cool as glass museums go. Edited July 21, 2010 by briansnat Quote Link to comment
+WaylessWood
Watkins Glen State Park offers a handful of geocaches along a scenic trail through a river gorge. I highly recommend it. And I'll add my vote for the Corning glass museum. My family and I enjoyed our visit there too. If you are feeling like a bit of a ride, you can venture to The Spot, the oldest active geocache east of the Mississippi. Quote Link to comment
sabrefan7
Every labor Day we camp at Sampson State Park and tour both sides of Seneca Lake. Wine Wine and MORE Wine! Plus there are 2 micro breweries. I have played at 2 of the 4 golf courses. There are many caches all the way around the lake and Sampson is great to explore. If your a Nascar or just a race fan Watkins Glen is a very cool town to walk around in. Hope you have fun Quote Link to comment
