sek-surveyor
I am announcing a Geocache Poker Run event on August 7, 2010 during Arma Homecoming in Arma, Kansas. Registration is free and will begin at 8:00 am and will last until 12:00 pm. The poker run will consist of least 5 geocache log books placed in Arma and the surround area. Participants will sign each log book requesting the envelope that will be used to create their poker hand. Log books will be collected at 5:00 pm with the best hand winning a $50 cash prize. There may also be a $30 prize for some other part of the contest. The first 30 participants to complete a hand will receive a 2009 Centennial Celebration Arma Homecoming t-shirt. There are some other ideas in the works, and the fine points may change with suggestions. Arma Homecoming will last all weekend and participants are encouraged to enjoy some of the other festivities that will be going on as well. Quote Link to comment
+SilleB
Here is a suggestion of a poker run I found on the EatPlayStay.com newsletter. 1) Prizes - Come up with the prizes, i.e. fully-stoked ammon can cache ready to hide. You have done that with the prize monies. 2) Get the Coordinates - Hide 5 caches around the area. You have done that. 3) Pick the Cards - Place a card in a security envelopes and label them accordingly. Deck A, B, C, etc. Cache 1-5 Example: If you were part of deck "B" you would go to each cache and pick out a card (envelope) from envelopes labeled deck "B". You would then sign the log at each cache. To keep the possibility of cheating down label each envelop with the Cache number and Deck letter. 4) Reveal the hand - When you collect a card from each of the five caches you return to the registration table to open your envelops and reveal you hand which is logged by the event coordinators. At the end of the event, the highest hand(s) win. Hope this helps SilleB Quote Link to comment
