+user13371 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I was looking this afternoon at http://www.geocaching.com/reviews/gps to see how popular some GPS models are*. I use "popular" here in the sense of "most commonly reported in use" rather than well-liked. These are not always interchangeable concepts. With that in mind - which do you suppose more GC.com users report owning? The fairly well-liked DeLorme PN models, or the much maligned Magellan Triton series? The total of all PN models and the total of all Triton models are both just over 8500. With the Triton series edging out the PN series by a tiny bit. That'll probably change soon, the numbers are awful close. The only thing I can think of to account for this is for a while Magellan was literally GIVING away the 400s to anyone who had a problem with any legacy Magellan unit that they couldn't/wouldn't fix. Weird. --- * Obvious question: Why? Because I buy and sell these on Craigslist sometimes. And because I'm a geek about things like this. Quote
