+Cache-Me-if-You-Can
What is the travel bug etiquette regarding revisiting a previously logged cache just to grab a travel bug? Quote Link to comment
+Team Donutdog
Most people consider it fine to do that, just be sure to log your visit to the cache as a note, not another find. Quote Link to comment

Ditto, as that is what I've seen here. One of the cache owners locally goes and changes out trave lbugs that they find in other caches to keep them moving. If by all means you can help with the bugs mission, I say go for it. And just log it as a took the travel bug and not another find. +Huntnlady
I thought double dipping was something louts did when they took two items from a cache and only traded one back. ______________________________ How do they get a deer to cross at that yellow road sign? http://www.geocities.com/cacheinon Quote Link to comment
Colonel Mustard
I think a bigger problem is cachers who fail to post the whereabouts of bugs they've placed, retreived, moved. Kinda leaves the owners in limbo until someone finally logs it. Perhaps the cache page needs some kind of big logging button as a reminder. I've seen some caches that are supposed to have bugs that haven't been there for months apparently. quote:Originally posted by Cache-Me-if-You-Can:What is the travel bug etiquette regarding revisiting a previously logged cache just to grab a travel bug? I feel for the owner. Makes it frustrating though when you keep getting comments in the log, "The so-and-so bug isn't in there." I tend to be a little bit more laid back about it, especially in summer because bugs might have been taken on vacation. I'm planning on getting a couple of bugs to take with me for my vacation next month. I'll log them out, email the owner about my intentions then drop them in caches where I'm going with a small note attached asking the person picking these bugs up not to log them at geocaching until such-and-such a date, so I'll be home and be able to log them before they take them. Hopefully, they'll abide by the note. Last year when I did that, I didn't attach notes, but got lucky in that no one grabbed the bugs before I got home to log them. Webfoot QUOTE] I like the note concept, wish we'd had that idea ourselves earlier. We dropped off a TB on a trip in May/June and someone grabbed it before we got home. I never did figure out a way to show it logged into the two caches between the last place I logged it and where they grabbed it. We were using public or university libraries along the way every couple of days to try to keep more or less up to date, otherwise it would have missed out on about 15-20 caches. We, too have gone back to caches we've previously found to recover or assist a TB, merely logging the trip as a note to indicate our activity. We have one TB hotel in the area that we've visited about 5 times. The toughest thing about that one is the theme is "take a TB, leave a TB" so you have to already have a TB in hand before you go there. Has anyone figured out a way to show all TBs in your inventory as being placed into a cache at once? That sure would speed up the logging process if you have multiple bugs with you. "Roads? Hotels should allow the free movement of bugs in and out without restrictions like that. quote:Originally posted by MiTuCats:Has anyone figured out a way to show all TBs in your inventory as being placed into a cache at once? You can only select one T-Bug from your drop down menu at a time. quote:Originally posted by MiTuCats:"Roads? Where we're going we don't need .... roads" --Dr. Emmett L. Brown I love the quote.
