Take A Hike!
Well, thanks to Geocaching, it now takes me twice as long to get somewhere! Mainly talking on the way to camping in the great state of Arizona. Usually travel 3 -4 hours from home. Now it takes me 6 - 8 hours to get there, same thing on the way home. Not complaining! It is what it is! I'm hooked! Quote Link to comment
CanDMan47
On Thursday I drove to Omaha, which is usually about 9 hours. I left at 8:15am EST and got there at 7:30pm CST. Twelve hours and 15 minutes. On the way back, today, I left at 8:30am CST and just got home at about 8:15 EST, twelve hours 45 minutes. All because I started Geocaching 11 months ago. I feel your pain. Quote Link to comment
GrateBear
My travel time is only slightly greater due to the NSF--Nagging Spouse Factor. "Are you done yet?" Quote Link to comment
Take A Hike!
My travel time is only slightly greater due to the NSF--Nagging Spouse Factor. "Are you done yet?" Oh yeah! I call mine "NGS", Non-Geocaching Spouse. Quote Link to comment
clumzyfly
I'm lucky, my whole family gets into it. Quote Link to comment
The Ravens
Yes... it also takes twice as long to get places on trips for us but we don't feel the "road lag" as much either thanks to the frequent stops on the way. I'd much rather stop for caches than arrive beat to death from driving straight though with no stops. Thanks geocaching for coming into our lives. Quote Link to comment
Dread_Pirate_Bruce
I, too, have noticed how trips take longer than they used to. The NSF does help, except when my wife has the sudden urge to drive 500 miles to do a power trail. Go figure. Quote Link to comment
gnjeepn
With us a trip that should take an hour or 2 takes us all day now. Quote Link to comment
roziecakes
Yep, this is definitely how travelling works for us as well these days... Quote Link to comment
YooperSnowman
Same here. And then we're always asking, "do you think there's a cache there?" or "look there-that would be a great place for a cache". And I often have dreams about geocaching. Heck...I think I'm forgetting how to do my day job Quote Link to comment
Take A Hike!
And then, of course there's always one more cache "only .3 mile away". Yeah, we got time for one more. It's so close! Quote Link to comment
dakboy
Last summer I left work around 5 PM to hang out with some friends about 2 1/2 hours away (normal driving). I didn't roll in until after 10 PM. Edited July 7, 2010 by dakboy Quote Link to comment
somegeek
My wife digs on it as much as I do... and as a result of this, more caches are found by my wife than I. Our minds work differently and she's finding them quicker than I. :-) She's told me to bring my GPS when we go out and about to get a few in too. Good times. Quote Link to comment
brslk
I used to travel in time but my tardis broke down. Quote Link to comment
