+bittsen
OK, so I have a few questions regarding vehicle tracking numbers. 1) Vehicle Tracking numbers are just regular TBs, right? 2) How do you log them when you see them on the road? 3) If you dip your vehicle TB in caches, how do you log it back at "home"? 4) When someone sees your TB# on the road, where do they "discover" it? And shouldn't there be an easy way to "dip" a TB? Something in the dropdown menu of a cache as an option? Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
1) Vehicle Tracking numbers are just regular TBs, right? yesss, but you normally don't release your car to travel via caches. 2) How do you log them when you see them on the road? You just log a Discover you wouldn't Grab it away from the owner. 3) If you dip your vehicle TB in caches, how do you log it back at "home"? You can't unless you have a nearby cache that you revisit along with your car. 4) When someone sees your TB# on the road, where do they "discover" it? Just as they would with any bug. There is currently no way to show the location where it was Discovered. And shouldn't there be an easy way to "dip" a TB? Something in the dropdown menu of a cache as an option? An often requested option to 'automagically-log' personal TBs. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
1) Yes, I think they are just "regular" TBs 2) If driving, I wait until I get home -- if not, I wait until I get home (no capability to log mobile for us) 3) Hmmmm... we don't have one so... (we just leave our "personals" there until we go caching again), then dip new elsewhere 4) Recent changes just list it as "discovered it" -- does not provide a location Lastly, And shouldn't there be an easy way to "dip" a TB? Something in the dropdown menu of a cache as an option? Yes! Quote Link to comment
+ngrrfan
OK, so I have a few questions regarding vehicle tracking numbers. 2) How do you log them when you see them on the road? 4) When someone sees your TB# on the road, where do they "discover" it? Vehicle TBs are discovered, just as is any other TB that you see in a cache or at an event, or that a friend shows you. The answer to #4 is..... I see your vehicle at the corner of Main and First. So my "Discover" log entry is... "Discovered at the corner of Main and First streets today." Just like any other TB type log entry. My question is.... Why do people think that vehicle TBs are so different from any other type of TB? Why do people have so much trouble understanding them? Edited July 5, 2010 by ngrrfan Quote Link to comment

What BD said, plus trackable T-shirts, hat/shoulder/jacket/backpack patches and yes, even tattoos, or your neighbors' dog! Quote Link to comment
