survey tech Posted July 4, 2002 Share Posted July 4, 2002 Always take mine along. Some markers contain ferrous metal and will set off a magnetic locator, but some do not. If the marker is buried it can be helpful, but its not conclusive, and you may spend a lot of time digging up other things. Always measure from at least 2 reference points before you start digging or you will waste a lot of time and energy. Quote Link to comment
