I found them on the maple tree referenced in the description to reach the azimuth mark for KV3863. (It's suprising that they would still be there after 34 years.) I was thinking that it might be some sort of standard surveyor's notation and was curious about the meaning. It's the first time I've encountered anything like it in the field.
