+Nitro Blast
Hello all, I'm a caching newcomer, but have really gotten into making caches. Recently, and idea came to my head for a cache, and I placed Pill-Popping Painkiller Package GC29PRK out. The reviews were good, I received nice emails about the cache. Comments about it being "fun" and a "surprise" were exactly what I was hoping for. So, with that motivation, I placed a few more 'animated' caches out. Caches that 'do something' when you open them. A sound, a boing, a surprise. My wife asked me last night if I had ever seen a cache like that before, or did I think of it myself. Well, I had not seen anything like this before (remember, I only have 100+ caches under my belt) so in that sense, I did think of it on my own. My question is, has anyone else found type of 'action' when they opened a cache? What would it be called?? Animated? Booby-Trapped? My 'animated caches' to date are: Pill-Popping Painkiller Package GC29PRK http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...68-f7f807cfef6d Cammo Del Rio South GC2A0YE http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...77-1ff5811fa20b Time for a cache. GC2AAME http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...a7-4c8d80fe8972 Hip Hip Hooray! Nitro Blast's 50th Hide! GC2APMT http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...24-110259715b90 Each of those has a different something something in it for the finder. Much more than just a trinket, a pencil and logsheet. I'm interested if there are more ideas than the few I have come up with. I'd be happy to share details if anyone wants to know. I did recently see the youtube video of the voice activated cache, that is SERIOUS! Mine are far simpler than that! Quote Link to comment
+roziecakes
Wow! That's fun! I found a cache that was full of film cans with those plastic snakes that jump out at you, and one of the film cans had the log. It was HILARIOUS. Quote Link to comment

+NYPaddleCacher
One of the cleverest caches that I've seen was a multi that used an old gumball machine at the first stage. The CO provided some pennies that when put into the coin slot the machine would deliver a large marble "gum ball" that the the coordinates for the final written on it. The gum ball machine also played a song as the gum ball came out. I guess I was a bit distracted by the container as I neglected to read a combination there that was necessary for opening the container at the finale. I was there in winter when there was a foot or so of snow on the ground and in between the first and final stages of the cache I came upon some very large bear tracks. Quote Link to comment
