hoosier guy
Hey, We are gonna travel out to the GCNP & Flagstaff area for vacation. I'd like to pick up a few caches while I am out there. Any hints. tips or advice on AZ caching would be appreciated. Take care, Hoosier Guy. Edited June 22, 2010 by hoosier guy Quote Link to comment
+WeeWillie
B-24 Crash Site - GCGARV is a very unique cache! It is also a haul. Sunset Crater national Monument has several earth caches. Here is one GCZ5GD. There is a series Flg - Rte 66 that traces Route 66. Almost any in town will bring you to interesting sites. Flag is cache friendly. Quote Link to comment
+TeamCaribou
There are a lot of caches in scenic areas off the forest service roads east of Munds Park. Most are easy finds.(Between Munds Park and Mormon Lake). That is about 15-20 minutes south of Flagstaff on I-17. Edited June 26, 2010 by TeamCaribou Quote Link to comment
+bedstefader skjule
I would have to recommend "A Journey To The Center Of The Earth"; a virtual cache north of Bellemont, Az off of I-40. This would be between GCNP and Flagstaff, if you go GCNP to Williams to Flag. There is this virtual, an earthcache, & a traditional all at this stop. It is a lava tube that you climb into, then hike back 3/4 of a mile to the end; flashlight, camera, jacket, and shoes w/ good traction are required. Very cool, unique experience. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...06-dcd7edc566cb Quote Link to comment
hoosier guy
Thank you to those who took time to help me out. I had a great time caching in the southwest. Picked up a few virtuals in parks and others in the towns we stayed in. See ya on the trail. HG Quote Link to comment
