+ECplus3
I was just wondering what you would write in a cache log in Japan to say "Found it!" Babelfish translator comes up with this: それ見つけられる! Is this correct? If you were to write "Found it" in a cache log, what would it look like? How would it look in kanji? Thanks for your assistance!! Quote Link to comment

+ECplus3
I'd like something else translated into Japanese now. Does anyone know of a geocoin with the 'trackable at geocaching.com' text translated? Could anyone provide a proper translation for me? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
miyoshi1970
hi. If it is translated directly, "Geocaching.comで追跡(トラック)しています。" or, more gently, "このコインはgeocaching.comで登録し、追跡中です。見つけた方はgeocaching.comで登録してください。" "This coin is registered and tracked in geocaching.com. For anyone who finds this coin, please register it with geocachingcom". Quote Link to comment
+ECplus3
I don't know if the gentle form will fit in the space I left. Will this be acceptable? Geocaching.comトラックしています Does anyone know of a geocoin that uses the Japanese translation instead of the standard text? Quote Link to comment

Geocaching.comトラックしています Does anyone know of a geocoin that uses the Japanese translation instead of the standard text? Domo E&Cplus3! Well, your above translation will not sound right, unfortunately. As miyoshi1970 points out, it should be: 「Geocaching.comにて追跡中!」 or something like that. Yet, even though I have a few Japanese-related Geocoins myself, NONE have Japanese written for this part. Always in English. In fact, I've never seen a geocoin that this part is written in any other language than English. I guess it's universal. I like your idea of using 「見つけた!」very much! You can also say 「発見!」for short. Good luck creating a nice geocoin, just like all your other ones! Very nice! ~ Dr.MORO Edited October 19, 2010 by Dr.MORO Quote Link to comment

Here is my design for the back of the coin with the new text you have provided: Quote Link to comment
+Dr.MORO
Domo again!!! WOW! Impressive! Very Manga-ish! I like it! Also like the way you 'reused' GC.com for English & Japanese. So, is this coming to reality? And anytime soon? What would it's name be? What kind of specific Icon would it have? Getting a bit curious. Thanks & Good Luck! ~ Dr.MORO Quote Link to comment

Getting a bit curious. Thanks & Good Luck! ~ Dr.MORO I still haven't decided the fate of this design. It will no longer be a personal coin for 2011 as my trip to Japan has been cancelled. But I really love the design. Here is the artwork for the front of the coin: I will have to remove my name from the back of course and there is still some work to be done. But the main consideration would be whether there is a market for this coin. Since it will not be my personal coin for 2011 I will want to make sure I can sell enough to at least break even. I haven't decided on a name, but perhaps "Found It in Japan!" would work. It would certainly have its own icon. I think antique or satin finishes would work best, and I would like to try a two-tone finish with the bamboo on the front being a different finish from the background. +Dr.MORO
Domo again!!! WOW! Amazing front design! Never seen anything like it! Too bad your trip to Japan is not this year, though do hope you can make it there some time in the near future. The name sounds just about right. I'm wondering about the icon image. Using front side or back side design? Yeah, I guess it's all up to how many can be sold. Well, you can post another topic here and gather some interest, ask who & how many are interested in actually buying some. How about tying-up with a Japan relief effort like Japan Red Cross? Ask for the geocoin fee to at least break even, plus $5 to $10 for a donation? I will definitely purchase one for my Japan-themed Geocoin collection. Just put this forum on my watchlist. Look forward to seeing some progress, and hopefully you geocoin someday soon. All the Best! ~ Dr.MORO Quote Link to comment
+ECplus3
Hi Dr.MORO. I've decided to go ahead with this design and take your suggestion and make it a Japanese relief effort fundraiser. I will donate the net proceeds of this coin to the Canadian Red Cross Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami relief effort. Here is the first draft of the artwork from the mint. And here is a closeup of the text... could you please confirm that it is still correct? Quote Link to comment
+Dr.MORO
Domo again E&Cplus3!!! Thanks for the update! SUPER! And for a Japanese relief effort fundraiser?! AMAZING! All Japanese parts are good to go! I'm still wondering about the icon image design. Using front side or back side design, or something else? Or none at all and just a generic icon? Just a vertical "見つけた!" with the blowout bubble would be very unique! Please count me in for purchasing a few of them. I bet many more will be willing to get one. Thanks again for making this happen. Good Luck & Cache On! ~ Dr.MORO Quote Link to comment
