GPS sparks boundary wars.

The article discusses property lines and property corners, not benchmarks, and indicates the fundamental public confusion of land surveying and mapping. Natural objects are used everywhere to mark boundaries, and are considered the best evidence of boundary location in a court of law. Such disputes have always existed. GPS is simply a new way of locating points and cannot change property rights but merely display where markers are on the earth.
