2nd 1871 benchmark found-Yah-Hoo!

Recommended Posts

icon_biggrin.gifWe just found another 1871 monumented rock cairn. But, this cairn is not as impressive in size..only about 4 ft. tall now instead of the posted 5 ft. It is cool though because it has it's own 2 RM disks, plus there is another triangulation station about 50 ft. away! All this just outside the small town of Fredonia located in northern AZ. It was not a bad drive most of the way--gravel. But then there was a sign--NO CARS BEYOND THIS POINT--ONLY TRUCKS OR JEEPS..it was serious! It took 1/2 hour to go a little over "2" miles icon_eek.gif Then we had to climb up to this one...fantastic views, just like the last one. This one is the Shinarump Cairn PID GQ0288. Pictures are on the benchmark page.

It was really thrilling to find another piece of history!

This makes 2 1871 benchmarks!!

There's only two rules to life.

1st - don't sweat the small stuff.

2nd - It's all small stuff...
