stewen11
Hey guys, recently I found this geocache > [link removed by moderator - see post 23 for correct link] ..I think that's most dangerous in the world isn't it? Thanks for answer. Edited June 8, 2010 by Keystone Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
Not even close. Seems like if you are prepared - it is no big deal at all. I remember reading about several others that would put your life in much greater peril. Quote Link to comment
+t4e
i don't think anything can beat the "Psycho Urban Cache" series and at the top of the list is this one http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...86-c332841529da Edited June 7, 2010 by t4e Quote Link to comment
+Touchstone
I think it would be a toss up between the cache near the South Pole, the one in Nepal (a Virt over 20,000 feet I believe), or that one that was in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle in over 100 feet of water. Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
or the one in Freddy Kruger's basement. Quote Link to comment

+NYPaddleCacher
Erta Ale Volcano I can not believe there are 5 finds. WOW!!! I wish I could do that one! I was in Ethiopia last year so that one was on my radar. I "thought" it was a little less than 500 miles from where I was staying (Addis Ababa) but when I do a search for caches within 500 miles of Addis it doesn't show up. Something seems kinda wonky with the proximity search. Quote Link to comment
+Chokecherry
Would have been better for the OP to post the actual link to the cache instead of this tiny URL mess that I just clicked on resulting in pop-ups and this annoying banner which appears to be producing money for someone. That being said that volcano cache looks awesome. Quote Link to comment

Which is why I didn't click on the link. I'm getting real paranoid of being sent to some malicious website. Edited June 8, 2010 by Destitute Quote Link to comment
burmars
I think the hardest cache in the world. Or should I say universe! Is this one http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...cc-a6038ae288d5 You will need a spaceship to get it Quote Link to comment

+EscapeFromFlatland
My most dangerous find was at a base I visited in Iraq where you could see off the base and there was a known sniper in the area. Quote Link to comment

Why on earth would anyone want to pursue a 5/5 for a film canister? That Volcano one though. Wow. Quote Link to comment

+NorthMark
I think it would be a toss up between the cache near the South Pole, the one in Nepal (a Virt over 20,000 feet I believe), or that one that was in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle in over 100 feet of water. Do you know the GC # for the South Pole cache? Id love to see the listing Quote Link to comment
+behind the camera
Judging by the number of finds it can't be that dangerous. For 90 percent of people who geocache, just finding a well maintained cache on a mile long path can be dangerous. +t4e
I was gonna go get it during my lunch break today but I changed my mind. you can't anyway, there is a "no shirt, no access" policy in effect at that location Quote Link to comment

Just 2000 ft below the summit of the summit of a 12,448 ft active volcano (Mount Erebus) in Antarctica (4 finds in six years) Cone_Z. Quote Link to comment
+JJball
This one gets my vote: Psycho Urban Cache #9 - Hot Glowing Tribulations ...yeah the EPA and CDC were investigating claims related to this cache and it had to be temporarily disabled. Seriously, this wins. When there is a threat of dying due to radiation or cancer ...yeah. This topic has been brought up quite a bit in the past I believe, here is one good thread on it. Surprisingly, that one in Nepal (Kala Pattar) has 81 finds and the cache page indicates that it's at 5545 meters. The Uhuru Peak cache (a traditional on Kilimanjaro) is 5894 meters. A few months ago, while flying back home from Tanzania, we landed at Kilimanjaro airport (just south of the mountain), enroute to Nairobi, Kenya. As we started to leave the pilot said that Nairobi was about 600 km away, but since they had a cruising altitude of 17,000' and there was a 19,000' mountain in the way we'd have to fly around Kilimanjaro, about triple the distance. Anyone have a list of the highest (excluding the one on the ISS) caches in the world? Quote Link to comment
+mchaos
According to some people this is the most dangerous cache in the world Quote Link to comment

Most film canisters have a soggy goo inside instead of a log book. If I'm gonna risk my neck, I want to at least write my name in the book. Or perhaps I would write northernpengu--a--a--a--a--a--a--a--r---r--g--g--g--h--h--h- *whump* Quote Link to comment
