+brslk Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 If I didn't eat the things I found in caches I would starve. I am poor and this is the reason I cache! I obtain food! I've even resorted to eating pet snacks left in caches during lean times. If you find a log book with teeth marks on it, it was me. Sorry bout that. Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) I found plantain chips from somebody's Dominican Republic holiday. They were kinda stale. But I ate 'em all. I love plantain chips, even (sorta) stale ones. That green stuff on logbooks, however - I don't eat that. Edited June 8, 2010 by Viajero Perdido Quote
7rxc Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Out with the cache partner yesterday... came across one with a Fortune Cookie (in a sealed freshness wrap). Decided it wasn't proper for a cache in bear country even sealed. Opened it, removed the fortune, which I left with the log book, and handed the wrapper and cookie to the partner for disposing... SHE ate it... Pronounced the thing a bit stale but edible... some people will eat anything... but I think it was fairly fresh and the wrap was still airtight... Doug 7rxc Quote
viper1986 Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I put a pepermint into one once, a few weeks later, went back and ate it Was still airtight, so why not? Quote

+The red-haired witch Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Eaten no, Drunk yes. Some assorted tea (in sealed foil wrappers, plus I put it in boiling water, so seemed safe to me) and a mini bottle of rum (that was the FTF prize in a pirate themed cache!) +GITIT Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 today was the first time I ran across food in a cache. Someone left a plastic sealed snack size mixed fruit cup container. Quote
