+JL_HSTRE Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I saw a special kind of stuffed bear being sold at a store today: it had the St Judes logo on its foot and the store would donate money from each sale to St Judes to fight kids cancer. I thought it would be neat to get one of these bears, get a travel bug tag for it, and send it out with a mission that each person who retrieves it should donate to St Judes. But then two problems occured to me: 1) The bear is almost certainly too big for anything less than an ammo can and probably wont even fit in those depending on how much swag is in them 2) Stuffed animals probably don't survive well in geocaches due to moisture, right? Just want to confirm if this neat idea isn't really feasible... Quote

Also, being a stuffed bear, I doubt it would last long...TBs seem to end up in never never land, regardless of their mission. Your mission is very admirable; however, I'm sure it would have to be made in the form of a request to donate and not a directive that the retriever 'should' donate. Forgetting all that...go for it, can't hurt to try. Quote
+Printess Caroline Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 (edited) Put the bear in a good ziplock to help protect him, and as Setan Meyacha says, ask nicely for donations. (edit for redundancy) Edited June 1, 2010 by Printess Caroline Quote
+silksmybaby Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 You could always remove the stuffing and attach the bug to the hollow shell and place it in a ziploc freezer bag. I plan to do this with my next travel bug becuase it will be too big otherwise Quote
+WRITE SHOP ROBERT Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 One good thing about stuffed Travel Bugs is that they can always be put through the wash. Quote
+5Taylors Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 In the last couple of weeks we've picked up and passed on these guys: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...d8-0a9daee1ef65 http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...7c-0f0d9a2d94f5 http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...62-80f4a8a81b02 All in pretty good condition. The cat is a TY toy and has been travelling for 6 years, and was still in good condition. Denise Quote
