+weldr
I've found a number of 'survey' markers. None have said 'benchmark'. Is there a difference or are they all the same just have different uses? Quote Link to comment
+Kewaneh & Shark
Essentially, all survey marks are a type of benchmark, at least for the surveyor that set it. There are many types and they have many uses, and most do not say 'benchmark' on them. If you are finding brass disks that look like the NGS disks we all look for, they could be benchmarks of a local government entity, such as the county or city, or another of the many federal agencies that use and set their own.
