What to do once i have found a cache.

I have found my first cache.

I have found the corosponding cache on the site, how do i set it as "found" and upload my new cords. for the cache?

Log into the site

return to the listing page for that cache

click in the upper right corner to 'log'

choose a 'find' log type

Share your experiences.

You don't need to show the co-ordinates in the log, for the cache you found -especially if it's a Multi or Unknown/Puzzle, where you shouldn't reveal where the cache is!

 

Welcome, and congratulations on your find!

New coords? You didn't move it, did you?

Typically, you find the cache's coordinates on the website

Go find the cache

Put it back where you found it.

Go back to the website and "log" wether it was found or not found.

Rinse and repeat

????

Maybe he saw the "add waypoint to the log" box on the logging form and thought it meant everyone added their own coordinates to the average.

 

At least, that bit confused me at first.

I noticed that too. But then I remember that like a lot of things I do, I first looked into this hobby several years ago myself, then forgot about it and didn't actually try it until just recently. It was a slippery slope into addiction from there! Maybe he did the same, but went a step further and made a account back then. I don't think I could have remembered the name and password for that long though.

 

To the OP, I hope you didn't move the cache. Doh! Although I have seen a couple where you are supposed to move it, those are the exception to the rule.
