The is the farthest west benchmark that I can find.

TT6238

It's in the western Aleutians Islands of Alaska. It's over the 180 degree longitude line, so it's longitude is (about) 173 degrees E. But the database lists it as 187 degrees W! This comes directly from the NGS database where it is also 187W. Go figure....

 

btw, I didn't do a through search, so there might be some more even further west. Anyone want to search?

TT6243 is just a little further west - N52º54.129 W187º29.166 (according to the BM page)

Hey what a good location for a geocache! No caches show up here!

Someone better go plant one soon so that whoever finds this BM will be able to log the cache!
