+DragonflyTotem Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Okay, this is borderline embarrassing but I thought it might bring out some other interesting posts....but there I was today, one cache away from my baby-milestone of 200 caches. I'd managed to sneak in a couple of hours this afternoon to knock out the last seven finds that I needed. It was hot. I got thirsty. Very thirsty. And so there I was...looking for what I was sure would be the last cache before I headed home....and found the perfect cache. It wasn't that it was just a 1.5 in difficulty. Or that the hint pretty much gave it away. Or that I thought that I'd fnd the cache site to be muggle free this afternoon. No it wasn't that at all...you know that you're getting older when you select your last cache of the day over any other, based on a look at the attributes and discovering that there is a restroom at the site. Sigh. Quote

Sigh. Been there, done that. Probably doesn't help that I also like coffee. A lot. --Larry Edited May 7, 2010 by larryc43230 Quote
+roziecakes Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Hey, we're not even that old, and we plan our caching on long trips so that every fifth cache or so is near a bathroom... Quote
BCProspectors Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 It makes sense to plan long caching trips like that no matter what age you are. Quote
+DragonsWest Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) Being a vegetarian, with a diet naturally higher in fibre, I like to keep track of the facilities. It helps to curtail eating of unnecessarily large meals before taking long hikes (or going out away from the conveniences at any rate.) I'm often amazed that planners see fit to place a 3 or 4 mile trail, which will be used by families and don't think a restroom/WC along the way is in anyway necessary. Same goes for bins. I must have carried the same water bottle for 3 miles in Golden Gate Park before finding a bin. No wonder there's so many thrown in the trees and undergrowth! Edited May 7, 2010 by DragonsWest Quote

Sigh. Or a Dairy Queen or some other ice cream joint. And yes...... I've planned routes that come close to "rest facilities". One good thing about the Monday Musketeers is that we aren't afraid to say that a pit stop is needed. (Although the requester may catch a ration of grief from the rest of us. ) Quote

Sigh. The one thing I've learned caching is to never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom. The next cache could make you pay for the oversight. Quote
+DragonflyTotem Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 I guess that I've been dealing with it by simply not going around with may usual coke in hand....as I'm still new to this I hadn't caches last summer and just learning. Yesterday was also my first encounter with a tick while caching. Quote
+Harry Dolphin Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 We usually make sure to schedule caches in wooded areas during the day... But, on the upcoming trip, we will be caching with my sister, so we will have to find gas stations and Starbucks along the way... Quote
+wolfslady Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 LOL not what I was expecting. I was feeling really old after Caching last Sunday, but it had nothing to do with needing to find a bathroom. I did feel much better after I washed my face with cool water though. Quote
