+Kewaneh & Shark
If you have a lat & long on the marker, do a search from the Benchmark Page using those coordinates. If the marker you found is in the database, it will show up relatively close to your coordinates, usually within a tenth of a mile. If the description of the marker you found matches one found in your search, you can log your find on the benchmark page the same way you would log a cache find. Be aware, however, that not all benchmarks are in the database. If your find is not listed, there is no way to submit it to the database. Keep on Caching! - Kewaneh Quote Link to comment
+DustyJacket
Yup. That just happened to me. I found a Control from using a USGS topo map. When I came home, I did not find it in the geocaching.com database, nor in the NGS database. I sent an E-mail to Deb Brown at the NGS to ask if they wanted me to report it, and how. It is near an area with a lot of new construction. It is a 3rd order or better horizontal control with 3rd order or better vertical as well. A nice BenchMark.
