TeamGatorade
Description of a station near the highway says something about a "fog line". What is a fog line? How do I recognize it. I used to work on the flight line in the military and never could find any of that darn line, whenever they sent me to look for it...lol Quote Link to comment
+Kewaneh & Shark
The fog line is the white line painted on the RIGHT SIDE of the road, adjacent to the shoulder. It is to help you see the road, or the limits of it, in the fog. Keep on Caching! - Kewaneh Quote Link to comment
+Black Dog Trackers
Cool, I didn't know that! Amazing what things can be learned here. I recall 2 occasions when the fog was so bad on mountain passes at night that I had to get a passenger to get out of the car to walk the fog line in front of the car because I couldn't see the road from inside the car. +PI Joe
My father loves to tell of the time he was driving from Boston to Vermont along the interstate and it was snowing and blowing so badly he was just creeping along, following the fog line. He was going so slowly that he didn't notice that he had taken an exit and driven for over a mile on a secondary road until he came to a driveway and a bunch of mailboxs. Quote Link to comment
