Planning an overseas trip, Mum (nearly 70) asked if my GPS would work in New Zealand.

She knows the G stands for "global".

 

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

 

 

Would everyone please find a member of the older generation (adopt one, if you need to), and explain some technology to them. Gently.

 

Would everyone please tell the younger generation to be polite to their elders?

LOL, but you have it backwards, we need to be nice to the youngsters because they get to pick which rest homes they are going to warehouse us in. LOL

a. Since GPS receivers work with AMERICAN military satellites, it is not unreasonable to wonder if they work outside the U.S.

 

b. It is NOT NICE to laugh at your Mom.

Wonder what his mom would think of his post? I am pushing 68 can use my GPS and my Palm TX for caching rather well. Recently switched to using my IPOD touch 2gen an geocache app. I also maintain my desk top and lap to rather well also. It's just a matter on being truly interested enough to do it. Don't load everyone in the same pot based on age.

I've always been amussed by those that are technologically gifted, and when it comes to looking for some of my caches. A few of them are just baffled and bewildered when it requires the usuage of a map and compass.
