+Cryptid Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Was there a change made to the Geocaching Maps? I have a cache at an old town site, it used to show on the map, now the town name is gone. I had another cache planned for another old town site, and it's gone from the map too. It used to show on the default cache page map and "MAP", "SATELLITE", "TERRAIN" and "TOPO", now they are only on "TOPO" Having the name on the map was the reason for the cache.
savant9 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I also just noticed that the maps have changed, they show vegetation and building outlines...
+pppingme Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 GC doesn't supply any mapping at all. The map/sat/terrain all come from google, who gets it from a variety of sources, the topo comes from mytopo.com The fact that a change made to one of the three carries to the other two isn't much of a surprise.
