+GeoTrailGuy
Google just posted an update on their Google Earth/Map blog indicating they've started using new map data for Canada. Maybe this is what you're seeing? Link to Google blog Quote Link to comment

Maybe this is what you're seeing? Link to Google blog Google data is updated, neat -- I see building outlines and forest areas. Also check out the Google Earth plugin mode -- looks real cool in downtown Toronto with all the buildings rendered in 3D too. On a side note, while the maps are updated, they're not as current as they could be - seems to be the same data provider Garmin is using (notably things like the 410 extension in Caledon is missing, just like City Navigator 2011.10). I do note that Google uses Digital Globe for satellite, which is the same as Garmin Basecamp. Quote Link to comment

Well what I really like about this is that since I lived in Rocky MOuntain House, (Town West of Reddeer) The Map was like a kilometer off so now that it is fixed I am really glad. +Avernar
notably things like the 410 extension in Caledon is missing I clicked on the "Report a problem" link on the bottom of the map for that. Quote Link to comment

+northernpenguin
Hmmm. Perhaps this could be useful for those little map inaccuracies we spot along the way - Google Map Maker (Edit the Google Map). Not sure it works in Canada yet though, I tried to draw in a street but it wouldn't take it. Quote Link to comment

I guess we will have to wait another year or so. Quote Link to comment
ertyu
Don't forget, you can now use the 'Report a Problem' link to notify google about missing or inaccurate data or anything else. So far the requests I've put in have been handled way quicker than requests to Navteq. Quote Link to comment
+Juicepig
I noticed that a cache I am working on might be considered a "drive-up" - even though the logging roads havent been used in 40 years. That might upset a few people, [] Quote Link to comment
+DENelson83
It looks like Google is now using DMTI Spatial's data for maps in Canada. The data now looks almost the same as what I see on Garmin's Topo Canada v4 maps. Quote Link to comment
