+c-fire
Any thoughts on what the best way is to attach a laminated stash note to an ammo can lid? I'm using a hot glue gun, but I seem to be using a lot of glue. Has to be able to survive a large temperature range. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
rare earth magnets work well. But then, somebody would probably take them. Most adhesives do not like the expansion/contraction issue with metals. Hot glue is one of the worst for that application. Two-part epoxies don't care for it either, but are better than hot glue. Maybe gorilla glue (urethane[?]) would do it. Quote Link to comment
+Chokecherry
If there isn't extreme cold gorilla glue would probably hold up. Hot glue doesn't stand a chance. If it gets cold at all you will lose any stick you get with it. Quote Link to comment
+thedeadpirate
I use clear packing tape on mine. I don't laminate the stash note. The tape acts as lamination. Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
I stick it in a freezer-strength ziploc with the appropriate wording showing and duct tape it to the lid so that it can be read or removed from the baggie. Quote Link to comment

Most of those old stash notes are still clear as the day I taped them onto the inside of the lid. Still secure as well. Quote Link to comment
CoyoteRed
Another vote for clear packing tape, though we do laminate ours. Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Another, "me too", on clear packing tape; some laminated, most not. No real cold temps here, but it does freeze. Quote Link to comment
+9Key
I laminate mine and use double sided foam tape to attach the note. Quote Link to comment
+Castle Mischief
Another, "me too", on clear packing tape; some laminated, most not. No real cold temps here, but it does freeze. Same here. My weather conditions in North Alabama may be different than yours, but I've never had a problem. Quote Link to comment
+BulldogBlitz
hamster spit works great. the only drawback, it takes so long to get the amount needed. better be a small piece of paper. Quote Link to comment
+GeoGeeBee
I used 3M spray adhesive on mine, but they haven't been "in the wild" very long so I don't know how well it's going to hold. It's crazy expensive, but I had it around anyway. I wouldn't buy it just for this. Quote Link to comment
+c-fire
Okay, thanks. I'll try tape, if not hamster spit it is. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I used to attach laminated stash notes using Goop glue. It worked quite well. I've since discovered that laminating was an unnecessary step. I now use plain paper and clear packing tape. It works so well that I've used it on all of my larger caches, including Lock n Locks. I've recovered several water damaged caches where the note, secured by clear packing tape was still in good shape. Quote Link to comment
