+beejay&esskay Posted August 27, 2003 Posted August 27, 2003 I've been reporting to NGS for a while, and have been able to use the "back" button to backup and have my previously entered information on the screen. In the last few days, when I back up, I'm told the page has expired. When I get back to the first page, my static information is not there. I don't think I've changed anything in IE 5.50, but I don't know what else it could be (unless something changed at NGS). Is anyone else seeing this...or can someone tell me what setting I have wrong? Quote
+happycycler Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 I can't help. I have always gotten that "page expired" message with the back button when updating datasheets on the NGS site. (I use IE 6.0) Everybody loves benchmarks more! Quote
+Udink Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 When you get the "Page Expired" message on any website, it's the coding on the website that causes this, not your own browser. It looks like the NGS has changed the way their online form works, and that's why you're getting this message now, when previously you didn't. Quote
ArtMan Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 I don't know what I'm doing differently, but I'm finding the NGS recovery form working fine, just the way it always has. I tried it in both Mozilla 1.2.1 and IE 6.0, and in both cases, backing through the NGS screens returns me to the original page with the form data that I filled in still in place. Quote
Z15 Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 Mine works just like Artman says. Always has. Using IE 6.0 Did you run any updates to IE? Mike Survey Tech (Retired) Quote
+Kinda-Geeky Posted August 29, 2003 Posted August 29, 2003 I'm a bit new so please forgive me on this but how is it that you are able to claim a recovery if your not with an agency? Will they (National Geodetic Survey, NOAA) allow you to kind of become an agency? Will they approve individuals? I would be very interested in learning how I could submit my benchmark finds. Any help is appreciated. Kinda-Geeky Quote
Z15 Posted August 30, 2003 Posted August 30, 2003 If you are a member of this site, you check the option other and enter GEOCAC. Other - Enter the approved agency code of the organization which recovered the mark in the textbox below. If you do not know your approved agency code, you can generate the latest contributors' list from NGS' integrated database (NGSIDB). On this list the agency code starts in column 1 and the agency full name follows it. The list is sorted alphabetically by agency code. If your agency or firm is not on this list and you would like to be assigned a specific agency code, please contact Deb Brown at NGS to make the appropriate arrangements. Our code is GEOCAC Here is a list of all the contributors to the NGS Database Mike Survey Tech (Retired) Quote
