+GeoGeeBee Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Sometimes it is all about the numbers... With the 10th Anniversary Event coming up this weekend, I noticed how close I was to a milestone number and decided the event should be my 100th cache. So that left me with a dozen caches to find this week. There's a series of quick Park and Grabs that was published recently, so I started on those yesterday. Today at lunch time I went out and grabbed six of them. I would have gotten seven, but there were people waiting at one of the bus stops and I didn't have time to wait for a bus to come take them away. So now I have 96 finds total; three more and I'll be ready for Saturday! One of the caches in the series: GC24TB4 It's not exactly a power trail, but six caches and 27 miles in less than 90 minutes is as close to a power trail as I have ever come. In fact, I think this may be my "most caches found in one day" day. Quote
+WRITE SHOP ROBERT Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Cool, I hope you took time to get lunch too. congratulations of your upcoming Milestone!! Quote
NeecesandNephews Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) I hit a local "power trail" Saturday to run up some numbers. 78 on the trail, and I had previously found several of them on one end. Hit my 100 finds mark on the trail, and when finished with the whole day, had 106 finds total for the day! I had mixed emotions on the trail. It took me through some beautiful country on the back roads, but the most memorable cache of the whole day was a single terrain 4 cache (GCRFCO) that took me an hour to get to!! This will probably be my favorite cache for some time to come!! edit to add- looking at your map you probably had a lot more fun on your "power trail" than I did on mine!! +J the Goat Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Congrats on the milestone, 3 in 3 or 4 days should be doable. I was going to try to get to 300 by sunday for my event (you're all welcome to attend if you'll be in the Northern California area GC25MR1) but we've been rained out for a few weeks now. Had a couple potential days, but nothing panned out. I did manage to find a cache placed in '01 though, my oldest to date. I was supposed to go after a '00 cache today, but alas it's raining and the 4X4 trails are closed. At this point, I'm trying to figure out where I went off topic. Sorry Quote
+CortandTrent Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) Nice! I was looking at the map and said man that looks familiar, didn't notice you were from Durham as well! I'm guessing those were the new Data Boys series? Wish I could make the events this weekend, unfortunately gotta work Edited April 27, 2010 by CortandTrent Quote
Mr.Yuck Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I've gotten 3 caches during lunch hour a couple of times. Of course I only get an hour, not 90 minutes. Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Today at lunch time I went out and grabbed six of them. I usually cache on my lunch hour and that's better than I've ever done. Good job! Quote
+ngrrfan Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I did a power trail today....... 1 in a row!! Quote
+humboldt flier Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 You folks rock ... power caching. I got O for O to-day. Yowzer & Hooooo Ahhhhh Quote
+roziecakes Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Congrats on your milestone!!! My personal latest goal is to get to 1000 before GeoWoodstock. It would be nice even to make that my 1000th find, but I think we'll get further than that, mostly because I'm in the middle of a Challenge Cache that requires one to find at least one cache per day for 101 days. I'm on day 59... I love reading about milestones. It's exciting, I don't care if it's 100 caches or 20,000; milestones are great accomplishments. Oh, and my power trail today consisted of all of 2 caches... Edited April 28, 2010 by nymphnsatyr Quote

Good luck on meeting your goal! Quote

Except for the first, the rest were done while riding around on a rented bicycle in Barcelona. There were several cacher for which I was very close to GZ but decided not to search either due to lots of muggles or I just decided I wanted to explore of the city. A bicycle for urban caching is a nice way to go. Quote
+BulldogBlitz Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 i was impressed. until i went out and did 7. now i am the world record holder! Quote
