+Zor
There's several 10th anniversary cache events going on in my province and I am wondering how we get the event type converted from a standard event to a 10 Years! event. Does anyone know if this is being done before next weekend or if you have to wait until after the event to post your photo to prove you meet the guidelines, in order to get the icon? Just wondering. Thanks. Link to comment

+Chrysalides
I guess the question here is : is there going to be a new cache type for Groundspeak:type in the GPX. Hopefully people developing for GPX (GSAK, CacheStats, etc) either already have the information, or will be getting it soon. Link to comment
+RJ McKenzie
So we are getting a different icon for the 10 year event? Link to comment
+pppingme
Lost & Found. That page seems to indicate that a special icon will show up on the page, but nothing special for attendee's. Those who attend these events will earn the standard Event icon. Link to comment
+mtn-man
Lost & Found. That page seems to indicate that a special icon will show up on the page, but nothing special for attendee's. Those who attend these events will earn the standard Event icon. Actually, what you quoted comes from a standard Lackey attended event. Below that it talks about the 10 Years! Events, which is what the original question in this topic is referring to. In addition to the standard event cache Guidelines, there are a few additional guidelines that you will need to follow if you wish your event to qualify for a 10 Years! cache type icon. Additional Guidelines: * Events must be held April 30 - May 3, 2010. * The name of the event needs to be formatted this way: "10 Years! <your location>." For example: 10 Years! Seattle, WA or 10 Jahre! Munich, Germany. * At least 10 people must attend the event. * Flashmobs do not qualify. * A video or picture must be taken at the event. At least 10 attendees must be in the video/photo along with a legible sign showing the event coordinates and location name. * The people in the video or photo should be festive. Be inventive! But please keep it family friendly. If you are interested in hosting a 10 Years! event, you are welcome to submit it as a normal event cache at this time. We will provide details on how to switch the listing to a 10 Years! event soon. I think the icon for these events will end up being this -- Edited April 27, 2010 by mtn-man Link to comment
+pppingme
So a lackey attended event gets a less glamorous icon than a non-lackey attended event? Link to comment
+Delta68
So a lackey attended event gets a less glamorous icon than a non-lackey attended event? Yes! But only because it's two different things The 10 Year! icons are for the special events this coming weekend. The lackey attended icons are just for the map on the Lost and Found page to show which events lackeys will be attending throughout the Summer ( I think) Mark Link to comment

+wimseyguy
So a lackey attended event gets a less glamorous icon than a non-lackey attended event? The mere presence of a lacky at the event provides glamor far beyond what a mere icon can provide. Link to comment

+Avernar
The only real issue is the My Finds PQ. Not quite. If the icon gets flipped before the events get archived it will show up in regular PQs. And people can still download the GPX from the cache page even after it gets archived. I want to know if it will be a new cache type in the GPX or just a cosmetic display change on the profile page. Edited April 27, 2010 by Avernar Link to comment

I can't imagine that there might be more than one "mtn-man" name tag there. The REAL mtn-man will be tending to Ambrosia's every need and will be following her with grapes to feed to her as she wishes. Link to comment

One of the requirements is to have the cache titled "10 Years! - " And the events must be held April 30 - May 3, 2010 (could have sworn it was May 1 - 2 earlier, but glad to see the larger window). Sounds like a good plan, and straightforward enough. Thanks for the clarification. Link to comment
