+TheOgres
Hi all, Been geocaching for about 5 months and have almost 100 finds. Our geocaching name was chosen by our daughter and we don't really like it. From what I've read it's nearly impossible to change our name. Question is: If we create another profile (name) is it wrong to re-log all of the finds that we have now? Don't want to offend anyone. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Changing your username is not hard so you don't need to relog. Click here: Changing your username Quote Link to comment
NordicMan
Yes you can go back through your previously entered logs and re-log using your new name. Just be sure to date it the day the cache was found, and say something like "found with my old account (old name)" Quote Link to comment
+chachi44089
My user name on here is chachi44089,but i sign the logs Team Martin.Mostly because I created an account before I went caching with the family. Not sure if its an issue, but I have had no complaints. So far... Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Follow BlueDeuce's link properly, and all the caches are put under the new username, there would be no need to re-log them all. Of course, I suppose a person could (?) want to start over -- in which case, I think it would be proper to visit all those previous caches to log the "new" name. Have seen this type of logging before. Generally the logger will log the username, mentioning in the log the team name that they are a part of. To do it otherwise could well result in a log deletion here and there. Edited April 24, 2010 by Gitchee-Gummee Quote Link to comment
BCProspectors
It seems easier to contact Groundspeak at contact@Groundspeak.com and explain the situation. They will be able to change your name for you. Quote Link to comment

I thought about that later after creating this account, but didnt change my user name because I didnt want confusion on the forums.I will remember to include that in my future logs. Thanks for the heads up.
