WingArcher
I'm curious (and I hope a few others are too...) do you go find these things for fun like the rest of us or is it too much like work? Quote Link to comment
+True Grid
I will search for them if I'm out hiking and one is close to my hiking route. Otherwise, it's too much like work. I do appreciate that Geocachers are now looking for these things. When I have to go look for one for work I check here first. A couple of times I've gotten updated descriptions and current pictures from this site, for ones I needed to search for. "True Grid" In the Pacific Northwet Quote Link to comment
UTM'er
Heres the one and only benchmark I've found..it was really fun! DG1675 http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=DG1675 Quote Link to comment
survey tech
Thats a beauty all right, UTM, and in a very memorable spot. I also believe the ones on mountain tops are the finest. I think Rabun is the most beautiful spot here in Georgia with a tri-station. I agree with TG that while I have probably found enough on the job to be satisfied, I still often go a mile or two out of my way while hiking to visit another one. Quote Link to comment
+Team Tuxawuxa
We go searching for benchmarks because they are there! In many respects they are more interesting than geocaches - they are part of americana. Quote Link to comment
