+Simply Paul Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) When I set up GC1T7V1 Three Peaks Challenge Bonus: Ben Nevis last summer, the plan was to have a similar bonus cache near Snowdon, to be found after GCY0N0 Summit or Submit and another in the Lakes near GCWMVG Scafell Pike. This way it didn't matter which order the mountains were visited; you'd have a Three Peaks Challenge Bonus Cache to find near-by. Unfortunately the plans I had with local cachers (basically they'd give me the co-ords of a new cache they'd placed with the TPC in mind, and I use the info hidden in each of the three mountain-top caches to give them fake co-ords to use for their puzzle/unknown listing) fell-through so I'm looking for two more cachers - a Lakelander and NW Wales inhabitant - to step in. The caches would be yours, it would be nice to use the general lay-out of my TFC-Bonus cache -not too far from a road for tired legs, decent sized box to reflect the effort needed to find it etc- and you'd have to keep the info I give you for the fake co-ords to yourself! Anyone able to help? Edited April 12, 2010 by Simply Paul Quote

Anyone able to help? Off the top of my Head, the N Wales cacher will need to obtain Permission Off CCW for the cache. As the Mountain is a Designated SSSI. Having just checked MAGIC Scafell Pike is also a Designated SSSI, and again needs Permission. Deci Quote
+Simply Paul Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 Given they'd be found after the end of the 3PC -be it 24 hours, 3 days or over a period of months or years- there would be no time pressure to make a quick grab at the bonus cache (unlike the three at the tops of the mountains, perhaps) so the caches wouldn't have to be on the mountains themselves, just somewhere within the general (5 miles radius?) area. I'll try to find the SSSI maps for these areas and see if there are gaps which could be used... Quote
+HazelS Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Scottpa100 is a frequent Snowdon climber.... I'm sure he'd help out. Quote
+Simply Paul Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 Yes, Scottpa100 was my first thought too... I think he's busy. Quote
Deceangi Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 MAGIC Snowdon & MAGIC Scafell Pike click on the Hand under the Map to activate the Drag Map facility. As for Scott, well he has a young Lady, who is a non cacher . So caching time is currently restricted Deci Quote
+zpyder Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I am off to the lakes next week, and my colleague who I have convinced to come is a bit of an "active" person...so he wants to do Scafell, Helvelyn..."all the big ones" :S. I would offer to place a cache for you if you got permission, but as I live on the south coast of England I wouldn't be able to maintain it! Quote
