+SgtMikal
Go Blackhawks! Whenever I think of Chris Chelios, I am reminded of back in the late 80s when he was still in Montreal, in the playoffs against the Flyers. He laid a dirty hit on Brian Propp, which knocked him out of the series. Late in the last game of the series (Montreal was winning the series), Ron Hextall came out of the net and chased him, and beat him to a pulp. It started quite a brawl, and it was awesome! Usually the team stands up for the goalie, not the other way around! LOL! Quote Link to comment

+GATOULIS
Many Greeks are "cuting" their surname to be more... american So I do not know if this hapent to Chelios too, but I do not think so! Actually we have this surname here in Rhodes!!! In greek it is TSELIOS Of course you can find this surname in other places too, so I having this name here doesn't make Chelios a Rhodian! I do not know from where exactly he is! I hope I will find it! BTW.... probably there are many with my surename in USA too! I do not know if they change it or not but I am wondering if they are famous enough and... a book was made for the family!!!! I was searching and in a site (I do not know if I can say the name of the site here..), I saw.... http://www.amazon.com/Stamoulis-Name-Histo...8313&sr=8-4 The Stamoulis Name in History ????????????? Flyers win, Senators win, and Canadiens win. In fact, other than the Sabres, only the Coyotes in the West were the higher seed to win - and even that is considered an upset, because NO ONE picks the 'Yotes to beat the Wings (although I would like it!!!) Odyssey Voyager
i thought maybe this playoff bracket might be a nice feature. i believe the NHL "re-seeds" the bracket after the 1st round. i'm not sure about that, so maybe someone with more information can chime in here. anyway, this is just a visual aid to show who has advanced to the conference semi-finals. That is a nice bracket, but unfortunately, it is not entirely accurate. The NHL does, in fact, reseed after each round. therefore, the highest remaining seed will play the lowest remaining seed in the 2nd round. The winners of those series will play each other to get the conference champion. then, the Eastern Conference Champion will play the Western Conference Champion for the Stanley Cup. In the current case, in the Eastern Conference, The Flyers (7) have beaten the Devils (2). If the Capitals (1) beat the Canadiens (8), then the Caps will play the Flyers next, because the Flyers will be the lowest remaining seed. However, if the Canadiens come back and win the series, then thngs go up in the air: If Buffalo (3) beats Boston (6), then the Flyers (7) would play Pittsburgh (4); but if Boston holds on and beats Buffalo, then the Flyers would play Boston. Clear as mud??? (LOL!) Just remember that after each round the matchups will be: The highest remaining seed against the lowest remaining seed, and the middle teams playing each other. Quote Link to comment
Odyssey Voyager
oops. updated the bracket. it seems that "clear as mud" also applies to the NHL website. they make it very difficult for someone that doesn't get to watch the games, to follow along online! the NHL really needs better PR all the way around. anyway, yeah, like i said, the bracket is just a visual aid, and i'll upload a new "re-seeded" bracket as soon as all the semi-final teams are determined and the match-ups are set. so, everybody just keep in mind that in the conference semi-finals...the lowest seed will always play the highest seed.
