Readymixer Posted January 21, 2003 Share Posted January 21, 2003 I have found several, what I am calling local, BM's on older bridges in the central AL area. I found 2 today. Here is an example of one of them: "Jefferson County Benchmark BM3998". I marked the spot and the searched this site for BM's closest to these corordinates but found nothing. survey tech Posted January 21, 2003 Share Posted January 21, 2003 Probably well over 90% of all benchmarks are not in the NGS database, mainly because they have rigorous standards that make it very time consuming for surveyors to comply and also because state, county and city data serves the same purpose.
