I'm not so sure about the radius in comparison to where I live but that IS pretty good saturation just to the West of the event! Even three Earth Caches within miles of each other! I could keep myself busy for a weekend if I was closer....

For there to be "tons of caches" and roughly 1000 nearby caches - I will have to assume that tons = a minimum of 2 tons - therefore each cache will have to weigh right at 4 pounds. I can buy it if they are all ammocans but some of them are surely micros.

 

I can only conclude that many of them have lead weights added??!!????

That's not a large number. I have 1,000 within 5 miles.
