Thanking the person who moves your TB along?

Hi, I'm a newbie to geocaching and think it's great fun! I have sent my first TB's out into the big wide world and the person who has picked one of them up has kindly posted a photo and promised to move it on for me in the next few days. I just wondered whether it was 'the done thing' to send a message to the person who has done this to thank them or whether it breaks any geocaching rules of etiquette? Any advice would be appreciated.

Not necessary, but if you appreciate their actions, it would be a nice gesture.

We have had it go both ways, giving and receiving. :P

I feel that it may also make sure that your bug doesn't go missing as easy. If you make it feel a bit personal by letting them know that you are watching it move and are excited, then they may be more likely to make sure it gets into a cache (even a local one, if they didn't make their planned drop).

Even the slightest mention of 'make sure you move it along quickly' comes across and controlling and trying to micro-manage your bug from afar.

Very annoying, and you don't want to annoy people holding your bug.
