JabbaTHutt
I was in costco the other day in Ancastor, and happened to come across some LED flashlights, TACTICAL LED high intensity. Hmmm it says they have the CREE XRE Q3 LED's in them and are rated 160 LUMENS, $14.99 for a pair of them and that includes the 6 AAA duracells to put in them. Well they are well worth the money they are BRIGHT, they can be set to half power, full power, strobe, SOS. then off. I liked the pair I got so well that when I was in costco in st kitts a few days later I bought another package. Edited April 4, 2010 by JabbaTHutt Quote Link to comment

JabbaTHutt
I made a mistake in my post I said it was AA but I have corrected it they actually take AAA batteries. They are bright, I have Dorcy 120 lumen light and it I can look at, these ones even at half power I cannot look at the LED. Quote Link to comment
res2100
I bought these at Costco a few weeks ago and got to use it for the first time on Friday during the Bruce Trail hike and it was an awesome flashlight...definitely a great deal. Quote Link to comment

rovers3
My local costco had lights with both Cree XRE and XPC led's. Does anyone know what the difference is? Quote Link to comment
Treknschmidt
I've seen them a couple times now at Costco and put them back on the shelf thinking they looked too good to be true. Thanks for posting this, looks like I'll throw them in the cart next time I'm there. Quote Link to comment
JabbaTHutt
For 15 bucks buy one pack of each and see what they are like. You can always take back the ones you don't like. +FreeBird65
I have a set - the only thing I do not like about them is that you have to cycle through all the lighting settings to turn off the light. Quote Link to comment
rovers3
the only thing I do not like about them is that you have to cycle through all the lighting settings to turn off the light. Actually if you just hold the button in for a few seconds the light will go off when you release the button so you don't need to keep going through the entire cycle. Quote Link to comment
rovers3
An update. I actually had the light with the CREE XPC LED and the button works as I mentioned above. It does not work that way with the XRE Q3 light where you need to go through all the button pushes. The XPC model states that the it has an electronic optimizer - maintain constant lumen output for life of batteries, whereas this is not stated for the XRE Q3 model. Quote Link to comment
popokiiti
We bought some LED flashlights at Costco, not sure of the brand, but came in a two pack for about $10. They work really well. Ours just turn on and off though...but we figured we could afford to lose them at that price! Quote Link to comment
42at42
Went to Costco lat night in St. Catharines. $18.99 for the pair. Quote Link to comment

Flintstone5611
Got a few sets for our team. They are very powerful little lights with a decent battery life. Quote Link to comment
D0kt0r_D
I agree, I am quite happy with my pair and I may just pick up another set. Too bad my local stores only sell the ones that you have to cycle through all settings to turn them off... other than that they are great! Quote Link to comment
