What GPS do we have to bye

Recommended Posts

We are new Geocachers, and we haven't found our first cache. Maybe because we are using a car navigator, and now we will bye a real one. But what to chose;

Oregon 450t Topo

Oregon 450

Oregon® 400t

Oregon® 200

Dakota™ 20

eTrex Vista® HCx

eTrex Legend® HCx

GPSMAP® 76CSx

GPSMAP® 76Cx

We hope you will help us

The Vista HCx, 60CSx and 76CSx are pretty much the same units in different casings.

The Oregon GPSrs are equipped with a touchscreen instead of many buttons and are paperless capable.

You can compare the units online at the garmin webpage. I personally have the 60CSx and am very happy with it.

Those are a lot of different gps-devices you're naming there. I think you have to be a bit more specific on what you expect from it. You can go geocaching with a device of 100 euros/dollars to 500 euros or endless more and still the basics of the geocaching game stay the same. With expensive gps-devices you find the same geocaches :sad:

Do you want to use maps on them, or do you prefer touch-screen or just buttons? Maybe it's better if you visit a store and talk to the salesman (if he's specialised in this area of course). Then you can look at and feel the devices.

Good luck.
