+Tubby Rower
I don't have a digital camera...Do I need to get a picture of benchmarks found? Also, What if a road in the description doesn't exist? I've looked on old maps and there is no sign of this road in that location. What to do? kc row, row, row your boat Quote Link to comment
+Kordite
Did you find the benchmark? If so, log it. Digital cameras are nice but they aren't necessary. Benchmark descriptions do not always match the reality of the situation because things change. The road in the description clearly doesn't exist anymore and may not have existed for some time. When was the benchmark monumented? It's likely that the road existed then. Perhaps an older map will show the missing road. When you log the find, notes what changes there are from the official description. I know that there are at least a few professional surveyors who look at these postings and would benefit from a revised description. Quote Link to comment
+Tubby Rower
The benchmark was monumented in 1992. The map that I was using was from 1989. I drove along 221 last night and didn't see 855 but saw a number of other road numbers. Here is the benchmark in question. http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=GW2666 kc row, row, row your boat Quote Link to comment
