$50.00 rebate for select garmin models

There's a $50 rebate on the Garmin website it is for the following models Dakota 10, Dakota 20, Oregon 450, 450t, Oregon 550 and 550t starting today. The gps must be purchased from 4-1-10 to 6-20-10 and must be purchased from an authorized Garmin dealer.

 

If you know of any other great deals on gps units or accessories please let us all know. That seems to be question to answer lately.

Delorme PN-40 also has such an offer ($50.00 rebate). Dunno the time-frame though.

I was under the impression that this was limited to REI, is it universal among authorized dealers? If so, could someone provide a link?

From past experience with a Garmin rebate, it'll take one week longer than the maximum time stated on the rebate form. YMMV

That is a great deal. I think I am going for a new Oregon 450. Does anyone know if Cabelas is an authorized Garmin dealer? The rebate form mentioned that Amazon purchases are not eligible.

Chuckle. I think that Cabela's must be an authorized dealer for every piece of outdoor gear in the universe. Ever seen their catalog? Positively amazing.

Well before I pony up $300+ for another GPS it better have more than a touchscreen and colored tracks.

 

Things that would get my attention:

• Switchable Portrait to Landscape
  
• Sunlight readable touchscreen
  
• Large foldable screen (see example below)

I purchased mine from Bass Pro. They matched the Walmart price of $258.00 plus gave me the $50.00 rebate. So the price with rebate was $208.00.
