+hofy67 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Does anyone else have this happening? We get notified of a new cache but the distance is way off. Today we where notified of a new one only 3.1 miles away to the north. I clicked the link and it is actually about 30 miles south west of us. When a new cache is published in our town the email says it is 12-15 miles away to the east. I have checked our home coordinates and they are correct. Is there any way to fix this?

Check the coordinates used in the notification itself - each one has you specify a set of coords. www.geocaching.com/notify

+BlueDeuce Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I forgot all about that specific feature/function. Thanks StarBrand.
+pppingme Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 This is a good argument for why notifies should have home coordinates as an option. Someone is regularly posting with this exact problem. GS, are you listening?
