This was from Garmins FAQ page:

Question: How do you change to the Qwerty keyboard on my nuvi 205W, 700, 800, 1300, 1400, 1600 or 5000?

Answer:

To change to the Qwerty keyboard on the nuvi, please follow the steps below:

1. Power the unit on.

2. From the Where to? and View Map page, touch Tools

3. Touch Settings

4. Touch System

5. Touch the blue rectangle adjacent to or under Keyboard (Keyboard Layout)*

6. Select Qwerty

7. Touch OK

8. Touch and hold Back to return to the main screen.

*Note: Some models may require you to touch the arrow in the bottom right hand corner to see this option.

I did see that, however none of these options exist on mine.

I believe it probably doesn't have it, but everything I read including the Garmin site says it does.

This option only exists on Nuvi with a large screen (W suffix), not the regular ones !

The circle shows an arrow at the bottom of the screen and the rectangle shows the units capable of this feature. This info came from the owners manual p38.

Edit: sorry for the small picture but I am trying out some new software and haven't quite figured it out yet.
