extreme Newbie to Wherigo

you are going at it the wrong way.

 

this is how you do it:

 

1. go to Wherigo.com, select the cartridge, click Download, choose "Oregon" version.

(i guess that you already did that)

 

2. now you have file that Windows do not recognize. this would be something called "name_of_cartridge.gwc"

 

3. do not try to open it. that will not get you anywhere.

 

4. instead, you must connect Oregon to your computer and put the file on it.

i don't know how to do this, but you probably do - if you ever loaded GPX tracks or something like that, then you do it the same way with this cartridge file.

(there is some special folder for that on the C drive? or something like that? i'm not sure, i only know what i read on the forums)

if you don't know, look into manual of the Oregon. i am sure it is there.

or you might look around the forums, there was a thread about this.
