rain theory Posted September 23, 2002 Share Posted September 23, 2002 Was out searching for a BM today, and a local resident informed me that it had disappeared while the bridge was being re-surfaced. This struck up a conversation about local BMs and he told me about one he saw that was mounted on the barrel of a cannon, and had an altitude of 65 thousand and some odd feet stamped on it. I got directions to this benchmark (although I havent seen it yet) and hopefully I can find it and take some good pics to post here. Anyone hear of benchmarks being "vandalized" in this way? - - - rain theory - - - Quote Link to comment
rain theory Posted September 23, 2002 Author Share Posted September 23, 2002 this may be the benchmark page for the BM, if so, than it obviously is not "on" the cannon itself (unless the vandals who stamped it to say 65,000 feet also moved it to the cannon itself).
